Official Blue Rose Bootleg Series - Heilbronn 6.10.2002

Neuauflage des 2CD+DVD-Sets "Live" von 2003, nun wieder erhältlich im Rahmen der "Official Blue Rose Bootleg"-Serie.

Als im Sommer 2002 die Studio-CD 'Hardpan' herauskam, konnte man getrost von einer echten Sensation sprechen. Nicht weniger als gleich vier bekannte Singer/Songwriter aus verschiedenen Gegenden der USA taten sich zusammen für ein gemeinsames Projekt, bei dem der Bandaspekt im Vordergrund stehen sollte. Hardpan, die Gruppe und das Album, war sicher eine der herausragenden Veröffentlichungen des Vorjahres auf Blue Rose! Mit dem einzigen Minuspunkt, dass die Platte mit 13 Titeln angesichts des überbordenden Talents und der Vielzahl der Möglichkeiten eigentlich noch zu kurz war… Wer mehr von Hardpan hören wollte, konnte sich im Herbst auf den Weg zu diversen Livekonzerten in Deutschland machen, unvergeßliche Abende, an denen sich die Vier mit Engagement, Vergnügen, Professionalität und unendlicher Musikalität endgültig in die Herzen der Fans spielten.

Für dieses Publikum und natürlich für alle anderen, die nicht dabei waren, gibt's jetzt 'Hardpan Live' – die geballte Ladung von erstklassiger Singer/Songwritermusik im Team und live auf der Bühne, mitgeschnitten im Bürgerhaus in Heilbronn am 6.10.2002. Und falls jemand immer noch nicht weiß, über wen hier gerade ganz schön begeistert geschrieben wird, für den stellen wir die vier Protagonisten gerne noch mal deutlich heraus: Chris Burroughs aus Tucson, Arizona. Todd Thibaud aus Boston, Massachusetts. Joseph Parsons aus Gladwyne, Pennsylvania. Terry Lee Hale, der derzeit in Frankreich lebt.

'Hardpan Live' ist ein umfangreicher 2-CD-Set plus DVD in guter alter Doppel-Jewelbox-Verpackung geworden, ein wahres Power Package mit informativem Booklet inklusive 'Road Notes', 'Memorable Moments', Fotos und allen Credits. Die beiden CDs bieten jeweils 9 Tracks, also 18 insgesamt. Davon stammen 12 von dem eingangs erwähnten Studioalbum, die ""neuen"" Stücke sind 'What It's All About' (Burroughs), 'Take Away' (Hale), 'I Don't Need It Anymore' (Thibaud),'Crocodile' und 'Fickle Fate' (beide Parsons) und die einzige Coverversion – 'It Makes No Difference' von The Band. Richtig komplett wird die Hardpan-Rundumversorgung mit der beiliegenden DVD. Hier wurden dann mit 'Closer To The Border', 'Gonna Break This Stone', 'Accidents', 'Black Cloud', 'Tucson Sky' und 'No Disguise' die beeindruckendsten Momente nochmal in Ton und Bild dokumentiert!

HARDPAN is Chris Burroughs, Terry Lee Hale, Joseph Parsons and Todd Thibaud. Four singer/songwriter who met in Tucson, Arizona in September 2001 to make a record. This album turned out better than everyone had expected , and they had to clear calendar time, make the effort and take the next step towards a tour.

Hardpan Live is the result of 3 days of rehearsals and 4 weeks of touring. When they met for the rehearsals they had the 13 songs that they had previously recor-ded and 3 days in which to learn some new songs. Their first show would be right there, and then Hardpan was committed to 4 weeks of touring Ger-many, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and The Nether-lands. So to learn all the new songs, each one of them would start playing something. The other guys would grab whatever instrument was handy (drum, bass, harmonica or guitar) and off they would fly. They each contributed 3 songs or so and then they had a set of more or less 25 songs. Again, what you’re holding is the result of those efforts. All original compositions except ‘It Makes No Difference’ written by Robbie Robertson of The Band.

The live shows were quite fun. What you can’t see on the CD is that after each song was finished, one or more of them would be switching instruments, so there was quite a lot of shuffling going on. This particular show was the 13th out of the 23 that they did. It took place in Heilbronn, Germany, very close to where Blue Rose is located. The venue was packed, the crowd was great, and the show was captured on a 2 CD set with 18 songs. The set also includes a bonus DVD with 6 songs from the same show.
