Necktie Second (Deluxe)

Necktie Second erschien im Mai 1994 auf Rick Rubins Label American Recordings. Dies ist das erste Mal, dass das Album auf Vinyl erhältlich ist. Die Deluxe-Version von Necktie Second enthält zusätzlich zwei Studio-Outtakes und fünf neu aufgenommene, reduzierte Versionen von Fan-Favoriten. Brendan O'Brien produzierte und mischte die Originaltitel und Studio-Outtakes, die von Chris Bellman bei Bernie Grundman Mastering direkt von den originalen 1/2"-Bändern gemastert werden. „Necktie Second“ erhielt nach seiner Veröffentlichung viel Kritikerlob und erreichte die Radiocharts. Die anderthalbjährige Tournee zum Album bot viele Höhepunkte, darunter Neil Youngs Bridge School Benefit, einen Auftritt in der „Late Show with David Letterman“ und drei Monate als Vorband von Tom Petty. Dank der Verwendung in der mittlerweile klassischen Komödie „Dumm und Dümmer“ entdecken immer wieder neue Generationen von Fans die Hitsingle „If You Don't Love Me“. Nun kehrt Droge nach jahrelanger Auszeit aufgrund chronischer Erschöpfung zurück.

Necktie Second was released on Rick Rubin's American Recordings label in May 1994. This will be the first time the album will be available on vinyl. Necktie Second Deluxe will be expanded to include two studio outtakes and five newly recorded stripped-down renditions of fan favorites. Brendan O'Brien produced and mixed the original titles and studio outtakes, which will be mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering directly from the original 1/2" tapes. Necktie Second received mountains of press and charted at radio upon it's release. The year-and-a-half-long touring cycle behind the album included many highlights, including Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit, an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, and three months opening for Tom Petty. New generations of fans continue to discover the album's hit single "If You Don't Love Me" thanks to it's choice placement in the now-classic comedy Dumb and Dumber. Now, Droge is returning to the fold after being sidelined for years with chronic fatigue.
