Wie immer stehen auch auf der 54. Ausgabe der exklusiv nur über unseren Mailorder erhältlichen CD-Serie Blue Rose Nuggets die aktuellen Blue Rose-Neuheiten im Vordergrund, diesmal gleich sechs an der Zahl - fünf neue Studioalben von Wrinkle Neck Mules, Tom Gillam, Ruthie Foster, Leeroy Stagger und Sons Of Bill sowie das neue Live-Paket der Band Of Heathens. Joseph Parsons und Todd Thibaud sind mit einem weiteren Stück der 2007er Heilbronn-Show dabei, wobei die Veröffentlichung der auf der Official Bootleg-CD nicht erhältlichen Stücke damit abgeschlossen ist. Deadman aus Austin waren im Februar als Trio erstmals in Deutschland auf Tour und präsentierten sich in einem mehr akustischen Set. Wir haben das Bruce Springsteen-Cover "Dead Man Walking", das nicht nur vom Titel her perfekt zur Band passt, herausgepickt. Ein weiteres unveröffentlichtes Live-Stück ist der Grateful Dead-Song "Deal", den die Band Of Heathens, verstärkt durch Mitglieder von Cody Canada & The Departed, bei der Blue Rose Christmas Party 2011 im Roadrunner's Club in Berlin bei der abschließenden Jam Session zum Besten gegeben hatten. Wie immer rundet eine kleine Auswahl des umfangreichen Blue Rose-Kataloges diese Collection ab.
Like with all the issues of our little exclusive mail-order only CD series Blue Rose Nuggets the new releases on Blue Rose are the main focus - this time there are six new albums in the spotlight: Five new studio records by Wrinkle Neck Mules, Tom Gillam, Ruthie Foster, Leeroy Stagger and Sons Of Bill, plus the new live package of the Band Of Heathens. Joseph Parsons and Todd Thibaud are on the disc with another track of the 2007 Heilbronn show - with this song the missing tracks of that show, released as part of the Official Bootleg Series, is completed. Deadman from Austin toured Germany in February, not only for the first time but also as a rare-to-see trio, doing a more acoustic set. We have chosen the Springsteen cover "Dead Man Walking". Another previously unissued live track is "Deal" by the Grateful Dead, performed by the Band Of Heathens, joined by members of Cody Canada & The Departed, at the Blue Rose Christmas Party in Berlin in December 2011. Last but not least there are a few nice gems taken from the extensive Blue Rose catalog.
