Influence

"Influence" ist weit mehr als nur der Titel des neuen Albums des wohl unterschätztesten Bluesgitarristen seiner Zeit. 1976 in Wales geboren, wuchs Philip Sayce in Toronto mit der Musik von Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Healey und Mark Knopfler auf. Er erinnert sich deutlich daran, wie seine Eltern ihm deren Musik vorspielten, als er noch klein war und sie beeinflusste ihn nachhaltig. Mit "Influence" schafft Sayce ein Meisterwerk, sowohl mit emotionalen Covern als auch inspirierenden eigenen Stücken. Der Bluescrack hat erkannt, dass es mitnichten darauf ankommt, ob man einen Song lediglich singt oder selbst schreibt, sondern darauf, den Zuhörer in seinen Bann zu ziehen. "Ich möchte eine emotionale Verbindung mit meinem Publikum, eine Rückkehr zu den Wurzeln." Hat man "Influence" einmal gehört, ist das mehr als offensichtlich. Philip Sayce hat sich die Anerkennung zahlreicher namhafter Künstler verdient. Er nahm Platten auf und tourte mit Jeff Healy und Melissa Etherige. "Melissa ist eine sagenhafte Musikerin und eine großartige Persönlichkeit." Und dann ist da noch Sayces unvergessene Performance bei Eric Claptons Crossroad Festival im Madison Squarde Garden vergangenes Jahr. In Deutschland machte er erstmals 2009 mit der Veröffentlichung seines Solo Debüts "Peace Machine" auf sich aufmerksam. Seitdem spielte Sayce unzählige Male auf deutschen Bühnen und veröffentlichte noch drei weitere Alben.

He took on records and toured with Jeff Healy and Melissa Etherige. "Melissa is an amazing musician and a great personality." And then there's Sayces unforgettable performance at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival in Madison Squarde Garden last year. In Germany, he made the first time in 2009 with the release of his solo debut "Peace Machine" attention. Since then Sayce played countless times on German stages and even released three more albums.
