Meghan Parnell (Gesang) und Dave Barnes (Gitarre) sind die Gründungsmitglieder von Bywater Call, einer kraftvollen siebenköpfigen Southern Soul- und Roots-Rockband aus Toronto, Kanada. Die Band wird komplettiert durch Bruce McCarthy am Schlagzeug, Mike Meusel am Bass, das neueste Mitglied, John Kervin an den Tasten, Stephen Dyte an der Trompete und Julian Nalli am Tenorsaxophon.
Bywater Call wurde mehrfach für den Independent Blues und Maple Blues Award nominiert, darunter in den Kategorien Entertainer, Electric Act und Beste Sängerin für die Preisverleihungssaison 2024. Sie haben ausgedehnte Tourneen durch Europa unternommen, wo ihre Auftritte von den niederländischen, deutschen und britischen Medien gelobt wurden. Meghan wurde als eine der besten weiblichen Stimmen im heutigen Blues und Roots-Bereich bezeichnet.
Im August 2023 nahm die Band an Joe Bonamassas dritter Mittelmeerkreuzfahrt 'Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea' zusammen mit den Headlinern Blackberry Smoke und Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram teil und wurde eingeladen, beim All-Star Jam auf der Hauptbühne mit Bonamassa selbst aufzutreten. Gitarrist Dave Barnes wurde außerdem gebeten, mit dem legendären Blueskünstler Jimmy Vivino (Conan O’Briens Basic Cable Band) auf der Bühne aufzutreten. Am 24. Oktober 2023 gab Bywater einen Live-Stream-Auftritt für die berühmte deutsche Fernsehshow und das Festival Rockpalast. Die Musik der Band ist eine Erkundung der Höhen und Tiefen des Lebens. Von intimen Balladen, die die Komplexität menschlicher Emotionen offenlegen, bis hin zu elektrisierenden Hymnen, die in voller Lautstärke gespielt werden müssen, ist ihr Katalog eine Reise durch die menschliche Erfahrung, in die Einflüsse von The Band, The Wood Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Otis Redding, Little Feat, Sly and the Family Stone und anderen einfließen.

They have toured extensively in Europe where shows have been praised by Dutch, German and UK media, with references to Meghan as one of the best female voices in blues and roots today.
In August 2023, the band participated in Joe Bonamassa’s third Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea Mediterranean Cruise alongside headliners Blackberry Smoke and Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram, and were invited to perform at the All-Star Jam on the mainstage with Bonamassa himself. Guitarist Dave Barnes was also asked to join legendary blues artist Jimmy Vivino (Conan O’Brien’s Basic Cable Band) on stage. On October 24, 2023, Bywater performed a live stream performance for the famed German TV show and festival Rockpalast. The band’s music is an exploration of life’s highs and lows.
