At Rockpalast

Für den Rockpalast wurden Jack Bruce & Friends bei einem Konzert im New Yorker „Bottom Line“ entdeckt. Das waren Jack Bruce (Cream) mit Clem Clempson (Colosseum, Humble Pie), David Sancious (Mitglied von Bruce Springsteens erster E-Street Band) und Billy Cobham (Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra). Ihre Musik war keine gerade heraus gespielte Rockmusik - die Rhythmen waren komplizierter und die Musik ausgefeilter.

Einige Monate später spielten sie dann schon in der ausverkauften Grugahalle in Essen und vor einem Millionenpublikum an den Bildschirmen der Eurovision. Eine erste Wiederbegegnung gab es 1983: Da war die Jack Bruce Band zu Gast in der Zeche Bochum. Etwas ganz Besonderes war auch sein Solo-Konzert in der Live Music Hall Köln 1990. Nur vom Piano begleitet trat die Faszination der Stimme von Jack Bruce und seine Qualität als Sänger ganz in den Vordergrund. Die Doppel-DVD enthält diese drei Konzerte in voller Länge und versammelt damit viele Facetten der Musikalität von Jack Bruce.

For the "Rockpalast" Jack Bruce and Friends was discovered at a concert in the New York rock club "Bottom Line". The band included Jack Bruce with Clem Clempson (Colosseum, Humblie Pie), David Sancious (member of Bruce Springsteen's first E-Street Band) and Billy Cobham (Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra). They played no straightforward rock music here - the rhythms were more complex and the music more elaborated.
Some months later they played in the sold-out Grugahalle in Essen and in front of millions of TV viewers of the Eurovision Network. There was a return concert in 1983: The Jack Bruce Band played at the Zeche Bochum. His solo concert at the Live Music Hall Cologne in 1990 was also something totally special. Accompanied only by piano, the fascination of Jack Bruce's voice and his quality as a singer took centre stage. The double DVD includes these three concerts complete and with it gathers together the many facets of the musicality of Jack Bruce.
