We Used To Think The Freeway Sounded Like A River

Was Letzteren anbelangt ist "We Used To Think The Freeway Sounded Like A River" nämlich ein großer Schritt für Richmond Fontaine: Der Alternative Country der Band klingt nun eher wie ein Mix aus The Jayhawks, Replacements und Bruce Springsteen. "Nothing less than the Dylan of the Dislocated", schrieb der "Independent" über Richmond Fontaine, und das englische Magazin "Uncut" vergab für "We Used To Think..." fünf Sterne.

Eighth album from the American Alt-Rock/Roots band. We Used To Think The Freeway Sounded Like A River finds the band at their peak, both artistically and commercially. A long time critic's fave, they now reach beyond the 'Kings of Americana' tag they were given by Uncut Magazine, sounding more like a cross between The Jayhawks, Replacements and Springsteen. The album was written by lead singer Willy Vlautin and produced by JD Foster at Jackpot studios in Portland, OR.
