Everybody Wants A Piece

Bei Joe Louis Walker stehen ein Eintrag in der Blues Hall of Fame, vier Blues Music Awards sowie ein halbes Jahrhundert Bühnenerfahrung auf der Habenseite. Mit seinem neuen Album "Everybody Wants A Piece" untermauert der 65-jährige US-Amerikaner einmal mehr seinen Status als überaus produktiver Fackelträger des Genres. Walker genießt nicht nur als Gitarrist, sondern auch als Sänger und Songwriter einen hervorragenden Ruf. Er tourt unermüdlich, trat während der letzten Jahrzehnte bei zahllosen Festivals auf und kann seit Erscheinen seines Debütalbums "Cold Is The Night" im Jahr 1986 auf eine Vielzahl treuer Fans zählen. Als Produzent für "Everybody Wants A Piece" gewann Walker Paul Nelson - ebenfalls ein Gitarrist von Weltrang, der zehn Jahre lang in Johnny Winters Band gespielt hat und auch für Winters posthum veröffentlichtes und mit einem Grammy ausgezeichneten Album "Step Back" als Produzent verantwortlich zeichnete. Bei zwei Titeln von "Everybody Wants A Piece" ist Nelson als Gastmusiker mit von der Partie. NPR Music, ein Zusammenschluss zahlreicher freier Kulturradio-Sender in den USA, misst Joe Louis Walker einen Stellenwert als "Grenzen überschreitenden Wegbereiter des modernen Blues" zu, und auch anderen gilt er längst als lebende Legende. Und Walkers eigenes Credo? "Ich will jüngere Musiker dazu ermutigen, das Blues-Vermächtnis zu pflegen. Jeder soll das auf seine ganz eigene Weise tun, einen richtigen oder falschen Weg dafür gibt es nicht. Macht es wie ihr wollt und habt Spaß dabei!"

He toured tirelessly, occurred during the last decades in countless festivals and can count on a variety of loyal fans since the release of his debut album 'Cold Is The Night' in the year 1986th As a producer for 'Everybody Wants A Piece' Joe Louis Walker won Paul Nelson - also a guitarist of world renown who has played ten years in Johnny Winters band and he was also responsible as the producer for winter posthumously published and Grammy-winning album 'Step Back'. With two titles of 'Everybody Wants A Piece' Nelson is as a guest musician on the field again. And Walker's own credo? 'I want to encourage younger musicians to cultivate the blues legacy.
