Re-Issue des zweiten Studioalbums der BRANDOS aus dem Jahr 1992, erstmals erhältlich als Digipak-Edition!

Seit nunmehr über 30 Jahren begeistern The Brandos mit handgemachtem Rock & Roll, der bluesgetränkte Gitarrenattacken enthält, gemischt mit Country- und Folk-Anleihen, die tief in der amerikanischen Musiktradition verwurzelt sind.

The Brandos, die von dem Film "The Wild One" derart begeistert waren, dass sie sich nach dessen Hauptdarsteller Marlon Brando benannten, formierten sich 1986 in der Besetzung David Kincaid (voc, g, mand, banjo), Ed Rupprecht (g), Larry Mason (dr) und Ernie Mendillo (b, voc) in New York City.

Gunfire At Midnight bekam glänzende Kritiken, und durch ausgiebige Tourneen durch den europäischen Kontinent konnten sich die Brandos eine große Fangemeinde erspielen. Das vom Magazin „Stereoplay“ als „ein rauhes, ungeschliffenes Rock-Juwel“ bezeichnete Album enthielt ein kraftvolles Potpourri aus Country-Rockern („Partners“), Rockabilly-Nummern („The Last Tambourine“) und dynamischen Rockern („How The Dice Fall“). Als Singles wurden die Songs „The Keeper“ (1992), „Anna Lee“ (1993) und der hymnenhafte Rock-Song „The Solution“ (1992) ausgekoppelt. Am Songwriting war wieder, wie bereits auf dem Debütalbum, der Texter Carl Funk beteiligt.

They owe their name to their love of Marlon Brando. Their fans know them as one of the most vital American live rock bands of the 20th century’s final decades. THE BRANDOS, known for timeless classics like “The Solution” and “Gettysburg” and their straight and true rock sound, were founded in 1986 with the line-up of David Kincaid (voc, g, mand, banjo), Ed Rupprecht (g), Larry Mason (dr) and Ernie Mendillo (b, voc) in New York City.

The year 1991 was spent writing and recording new material for a new album that would become Gunfire at Midnight, which would land a contract with SPV GmbH in Germany in the spring of 1992. Two singles from the album ('The Solution' and 'The Keeper') would reach the top 100 in the Netherlands. Extensive touring in Europe would follow, solidifying the band's fan base even further, however Rupprecht and Mason decided to leave the band in 1993.
