Re-Issue des dritten Studioalbums der BRANDOS aus dem Jahr 1994, erstmals erhältlich als Vinyl-Edition, limitiert auf 300 Stück und handnummeriert.

Seit nunmehr über 30 Jahren begeistern The Brandos mit handgemachtem Rock & Roll, der bluesgetränkte Gitarrenattacken enthält, gemischt mit Country- und Folk-Anleihen, die tief in der amerikanischen Musiktradition verwurzelt sind.

The Brandos, die von dem Film "The Wild One" derart begeistert waren, dass sie sich nach dessen Hauptdarsteller Marlon Brando benannten, formierten sich 1986 in der Besetzung David Kincaid (voc, g, mand, banjo), Ed Rupprecht (g), Larry Mason (dr) und Ernie Mendillo (b, voc) in New York City.

Auf dem Album The Light Of Day wurde Ed Rupprecht, der nur an zwei Stücken des Albums beteiligt war, größtenteils durch Scott Kempner von den Del-Lords ersetzt. Bei diesem Album setzte die Band verstärkt auf akustische Instrumente und erweiterte das Spektrum um den Einsatz von Violinen-, Banjo- und Mandolinen-klängen, „so dass man von einer gelungenen Mischung aus Rock und Folk, Kraft und Gefühl sprechen kann“ (Sub Line).

Von der traditionsbewussten Folk-Rock-Platte wurden die Songs „Not A Trace“ (1994) und „Love Of My Life“ als Singles ausgekoppelt.

The Light Of Day is the re-issue of the third studio album of THE BRANDOS from 1994, available for the first time on vinyl, limited to 300 copies and handnumbered.

They owe their name to their love of Marlon Brando. Their fans know them as one of the most vital American live rock bands of the 20th century’s final decades. THE BRANDOS, known for timeless classics like “The Solution” and “Gettysburg” and their straight and true rock sound, were founded in 1986 with the line-up of David Kincaid (voc, g, mand, banjo), Ed Rupprecht (g), Larry Mason (dr) and Ernie Mendillo (b, voc) in New York City.

Ed Rupprecht left the band during the recording sessions for the band’s third album, and The Light Of Day was finished with the help of a few friends, especially ex-Del Lords members Scott Kempner (guitar, vocals) and Frank Funaro (drums, vocals). They filled out the live band, and an extensive European tour followed.
