A Tribute To Led Zeppelin

Das Album zeigt mit seiner Auswahl von neun Songs das unglaubliche Spektrum, in dem sich Led Zeppelin bewegten, von Powerhouse-Rock über Psychedelic, Folk, Jazz, Progressive Rock, Blues, Funk, Soul und darüber hinaus. Gerüchte über das Album kursierten schon seit ein paar Jahren. Die treibenden Kräfte hinter diesem Projekt waren Produzent Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance) und Doug McKean (Goo Goo Dolls, Adam Lambert, Gerard Way). Cavallo, der selber einige Gitarrenparts einspielte, stellte eine Liste hochkarätiger Musiker zusammen. Dazu gehörten Gitarrist Tim Pierce (Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner), Bassist Chris Chaney (Rob Zombie, Jane's Addiction, Slash), an den Keyboards Jamie Muhoberac (Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, Rolling Stones) und die Schlagzeuger Dorian Crozier (Celine Dion, Miley Cyrus, Joe Cocker) und Matt Laug (Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper). Die orchestralen Arrangements übernahm David Campbell (Muse, Aerosmith, Beyoncé). Alles, was noch fehlte, war das letzte Teil des Puzzles... die Stimme.
Die Dinge fügten sich zusammen, als Rob Cavallo Harts vorheriges Album War In My Mind (2019) produzierte und sie während der Session eine improvisierte Version von "Whole Lotta Love" im Kontrollraum sang. Das Album ist ein perfekt zusammengestellter Auszug aus dem Schaffen der Band. Das 9-Track-Album enthält eine Mischung aus Zep-Essentials und Fan-Favoriten. Beth bringt auf der wunderbaren Version von "Stairway To Heaven" eine einfühlsame Emotionalität zum Ausdruck und verzaubert die schmerzende Schönheit des zeitlosen Stücks mit ihrem eigenen dramatischen Flair. "Ich wollte eine Verbindung zum Gefühl des Originalstücks herstellen. Ich musste an eine Frau denken, die ihren Weg verloren hat und sich an einem schrecklichen Ort ohne Liebe befindet", erinnert sich Beth.
"Sie hatten diesen riesigen, unbegrenzten Wortschatz", schwärmt Hart. "Als ich anfing, mich tiefer mit Zeppelin zu beschäftigen, wurde mir klar, was für ein großartiger Komponist Page ist, und ich hatte keine Ahnung, wie gebildet Plant ist. Man darf nicht vergessen, dass sie damals noch Kinder waren, und Page war schon immer ein Genie, der bei der Produktion im Studio immer neue Wege fand, um neue Klänge entstehen zu lassen. Es ist phänomenal. Sie sind die Beethovens der Neuzeit. Sie sind wahnsinnig; das ist wahnsinnige Musik.

The nine-song album highlights the incredible spectrum that Led Zeppelin operated in, from powerhouse rock to psychedelia, folk, jazz, prog, blues, funk, soul and beyond. Rumours about the album had been circulating for a few years. At the helm was super-producer Rob Cavallo and engineer Doug McKean. The A-list musicians include Cavallo on guitar along with Tim Pierce, Chris Chaney on bass, Jamie Muhoberac on keyboards, Dorian Crozier on drums and Matt Laug, with Orchestral arrangements by David Campbell. All that was left was the final piece of the puzzle? the voe.
Things clicked into place when Cavallo was producing Hart's previous album, War In My Mind (2019), and she did an impromptu version of "Whole Lotta Love" in the control room during the session. Maybe this was always in the cards. It's fitting that the song that started it all, "Whole Lotta Love", is the opening song of the album. From there, it's a non-stop, palpitating journey.
Talking about the music and legacy of Zeppelin, Beth says, "it's so beautifully done, it's timeless. It will go on forever. Sometimes people come along, and they're from another planet, and they make these pieces of art which will forever be, like the Mona Lisa."
