„Strike Up The Band“ ist Little Feats triumphale Rückkehr zum Rock ’n’ Roll mit viel sumpfigem Southern Soul mit Bill Payne (Tasteninstrumente/Gesang), Scott Sharrard (Gitarre/Gesang), Tony Leone (Schlagzeug/Gesang), Fred Tackett (Gitarre), Kenny Gradney (Bass) und Sam Clayton (Percussion/Gesang). Es ist ihr erstes Album mit neuem Material seit über 13 Jahren mit Songs, die von Payne und Tackett sowie Feats neuesten Mitgliedern Sharrrard und Leone geschrieben wurden. Das Album wurde vom mehrfachen Grammy-Preisträger Vance Powell (Phish, Chris Stapleton, Jack White) und Bill Payne produziert. Der Song „Bluegrass Pines“ enthält die besonderen Gäste Molly Tuttle sowie Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams und wurde von Payne und dem Grateful Dead-Texter Robert Hunter geschrieben, und auf dem Titeltrack sind Larkin Poe als Gäste zu hören.

It's their first album of new material in over 13 years with songs written by Payne and Tacket as well as Feat's newest members Sharrrard and Leone. The album was produced by the multi Grammy Award winner, Vance Powell (Phish, Chris Stapleton, Jack White) and Bill Payne. The song "Bluegrass Pines" features speacial guest Molly Tuttle and Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, and was written by Payne and the Grateful Dead lyricst Robert Hunter, and the title track features Larkin Poe on guest vocals.
