New live album Journeyman by STEVE WYNN on Blue Rose – only available at his shows and at the Blue Rose webshop!

We are releasing STEVE WYNN’s albums on Blue Rose Records since 1997, both as a solo artist and with his band Miracle 3. Every now and then there are also CDs put out that are not sold through regular retailers, but only available at Steve’s concerts and through the Blue Rose webshop. It’s the same again with the live album Journeyman. Recorded during the most recent solo tour in Germany on May 24, 2023 at the Music Star in Norderstedt, the CD contains 15 songs that go back in time to the beginnings of The Dream Syndicate to the current Baseball Project album, and of course are also songs from his numerous solo albums not missing.
The edition is limited to 1,000 copies.

Why the album title Journeyman? Steve explains: “I am the journeyman. And I do go from town to town. Just like it says in the song. For all of the shows I have played over the years, every night remains a new adventure and a uniquely empty slate upon which to etch brand new memories. Always keep my bags packed? Sure, but while the physical one is filled with clothes and strings and various items for road survival, the metaphorical one holds songs and a mental took kit to solve whatever puzzle lays in front of me on any given night. This live recording was from one of those nights that needed no tools and had no puzzles to be solved. Smooth as silk and captured expertly by Wolfgang and the rest of the gang at the Music Star. I’m glad to have you along for the evening. The car leaves at midnight.”

Neues Live-Album Journeyman von STEVE WYNN auf Blue Rose – nur auf seinen Shows und im Blue Rose-Webshop erhältlich!

Seit 1997 veröffentlichen wir auf Blue Rose Records die Alben von STEVE WYNN, sei es als Solokünstler als auch mit seiner Band Miracle 3. Hin und wieder sind da auch CDs dabei, die nicht über den regulären Handel vertrieben werden, sondern lediglich bei den Konzerten von Steve und über den Blue Rose-Webshop erhältlich sind. So ist das jetzt auch wieder mit dem Live-Album Journeyman. Aufgenommen während der jüngsten Solo-Tour in Deutschland am 24. Mai 2023 im Music Star in Norderstedt, enthält die CD 15 Stücke, die zeitlich zurückgehen bis zu den Anfängen von The Dream Syndicate bis hin zum aktuellen Album des Baseball Projects, und natürlich fehlen auch Songs aus seinen zahlreichen Soloalben nicht.
Die Auflage ist auf 1.000 Stück limitiert.

Warum der Titel Journeyman? Steve erklärt: „Ich bin der Reisende. Und ich ziehe von Stadt zu Stadt. Genau wie es im Lied heißt. Bei all den Shows, die ich im Laufe der Jahre gespielt habe, bleibt jeder Abend ein neues Abenteuer und eine einzigartig leere Tafel, in die ich brandneue Erinnerungen eingravieren kann. Meine Koffer immer gepackt halten? Sicher, aber während der physische Teil mit Kleidung, Gitarrensaiten und verschiedenen Gegenständen zum Überleben auf der Straße gefüllt ist, enthält der metaphorische Teil Lieder und eine mentale Ausrüstung, um jedes Rätsel zu lösen, das mir in einer bestimmten Nacht bevorsteht. Diese Live-Aufnahme stammt von einem dieser Abende, an denen weder Werkzeuge noch Rätsel zu lösen waren. Glatt wie Seide und gekonnt eingefangen von Wolfgang und dem Rest der Bande im Music Star. Ich freue mich, euch an diesem Abend dabei zu haben. Das Auto fährt um Mitternacht ab.“

OWEN TEMPLE should be no stranger to long-time friends and customers of Blue Rose Records, after all with „Mountain Home“ (2011) and „Stories They Tell“ (2013) we have had two remarkable albums released from the musician from Austin, Texas. He took a lot of time for his latest work „Rings On A Tree“. The new album, available through us on CD and 3-sided vinyl, is a concept album – an exploration of family history and the way every interaction we have resonates across generations.
“It is clear that our lives are a distillation and expansion of the lives that lie before us,” Temple said. “Every life, every interaction of matter and energy, reverberates throughout the universe in an ever-expanding field. Waves of behavior that cause other waves of behavior, not just in one life, but in all of our lives. These songs weren’t written because of Covid, but the lockdown gave me the opportunity to spend time with my family and think about where we came from and where we might be going,“ explains Temple. He adds: „I have songs with me for this collection Hal Ketchum, Walt Wilkins, Kelley Mickwee, George Ensle, Nathan Hamilton, Brandon Bolin and Jamie Lin Wilson. Gordy Quist produced the sessions. Steve Christensen turned the controls, Rick Richards played drums, Josh Flowers played bass, Geoff Queen played guitar, Noah Jeffries played violin, and Trevor Nealon played keyboards and organ. Tina Wilkins, Walt, Gordy and Kelley sang harmony vocals. I saw all these people working and playing up close, and they put their heart and soul into every note and every line.“

OWEN TEMPLE sollte langjährigen Freunden und Kunden von Blue Rose Records kein Unbekannter sein, immerhin hatten wir von dem Musiker aus Austin, Texas mit „Mountain Home“ (2011) und „Stories They Tell“ (2013) zwei bemerksenswerte Alben veröffentlicht. Viel Zeit hat er sich für sein neuestes Werk „Rings On A Tree“ gelassen, dementsprechend besonders ist es ausgefallen. Das neue Album, erhältlich über uns als CD und als 3-seitiges Vinyl, ist ein Konzeptalbum – eine Untersuchung der Familiengeschichte und der Art und Weise, wie jede Interaktion, die wir haben, über Generationen hinweg nachwirkt.
„Es ist klar, dass unser Leben eine Destillation und Erweiterung der Leben ist, die vor uns liegen“, sagte Temple. „Jedes Leben, jede Interaktion von Materie und Energie hallt in einem sich ständig erweiternden Feld durch das Universum wider. Verhaltenswellen, die andere Verhaltenswellen verursachen, nicht nur in einem Leben, sondern in allen unseren Leben. Diese Songs wurden wegen Covid nicht geschrieben, aber der Lockdown gab mir die Möglichkeit, Zeit mit meiner Familie zu verbringen und darüber nachzudenken, woher wir kommen und wohin wir gehen könnten,“ erklärt Temple. Und ergänzt: „Ich habe Lieder für diese Sammlung mit Hal Ketchum, Walt Wilkins, Kelley Mickwee, George Ensle, Nathan Hamilton, Brandon Bolin und Jamie Lin Wilson geschrieben. Gordy Quist produzierte die Sitzungen. Steve Christensen drehte die Regler, Rick Richards spielte Schlagzeug, Josh Flowers spielte Bass, Geoff Queen spielte Gitarre, Noah Jeffries spielte Geige und Trevor Nealon spielte Keyboards und Orgel. Tina Wilkins, Walt, Gordy und Kelley sangen Harmony Vocals. Ich habe all diese Leute aus nächster Nähe arbeiten und spielen sehen, und sie haben ihr Herz und ihre Seele in jede Note und jede Zeile gesteckt.“
